What have we learnt today?
I often hear parents saying that the children don't remember what they were learning about at school each day. Maybe we could make a note about our learning each day so parents could follow along.

After Thought
Thanks for your comments. I am glad you successfully logged in etc. That's a good start. I would like to sus it all out completely - in terms how it works and what we want to use it for - before we unleash it.
At Wanaka Primary apparently one teacher has a blog open throughout the day in class and it gets added to by children. They also blog after hours too. I'm not 100% sure but think it's like a learning journal with questions, answers, comments etc.

Thoughts from the couch...
Think it could be a good writing tool and a good way of having discussions and debate within the classroom (without having to be in the classroom). It is also a great way for those who are not so confident in a big group to still have their ideas heard in a less threatening way. I would prefer to use it that way than as a communication tool for using with wider community. Think we have to watch that we don't try and introduce too many new ideas at once though. We are probably better to get webpages for each class up and running first. Once people establish a routine for that then we could start with blogs being used. We could set a specific topic/idea for each term that our class can contribute to via the classroom blog. ????
First time blogger
if I'm blogging my widget will it twitter?
shows what I know.
I will be happy to post regular photos and commentary by the kids about what's happening in the classroom to share with interested parents. I don't think I will be happy about responding to queries, etc from parents via a blog. I feel that kind of contact should be a little more direct. Also, nervous about expectations for how often it is to be checked / updated... just quick thoughts. good. done!
